Syed Farhan Fasihuddin is a Senior Housing Finance Specialist at IFC, covering markets in Europe, Central Asia, and Middle East and North Africa (EMENA). Since early 2006, Farhan has a led a large number of investment and advisory transactions at IFC that focus on the development of primary and secondary housing finance markets in the EMENA region. These include investments in financial institutions to increase the availability of long-term mortgage funding, advisory to governments and regulators to create a mortgage enabling environment, and advisory to financial institutions to improve their lending capacity. Farhan’s 16 years of financial sector experience also includes 7 years in mortgage asset acquisition, servicing and securitization at Fannie Mae, the largest secondary mortgage company in the US. Farhan has an MBA in Finance from the Institute of Business Administration, University of Karachi and an MBA in Finance and Management from the Wharton Business School, University of Pennsylvania.
